When an ageing Bellman seeks out “Ulla,” memories come alive in the brutal Stockholm of the 18th century, among bustling taverns and stinking alleyways. Featuring newly composed music by Andrea Tarrodi, libretto by Klas Östergren, and direction by Nora Nilsson, the production offers a sweeping story about power, class, female identity, and the right to one’s own story – starring Björn Kjellman and Hanna Dorsin.
