Inspired by the French New Wave, the film casts a critical eye on Irish society through interviews with public and private figures and cinematography by the French New Wave's Raoul Coutard. With his discreet 16 mm camera, he captures life in pubs and sports fields, in schoolyards and cemeteries, in hospital wards and during the tennis club's party evenings.
