With Sons of Kemet and The Comet Is Coming, Shabaka Hutchings was one of the driving forces and architects behind the new wave of British jazz. Then he stepped away from the saxophone, the dance-friendly and grandiose. With flutes, he shifted focus towards a spiritual and minimalist jazz. Now he is back. With a new album, returning to a more rhythmically driven music and, not least, back to the saxophone.
