Gypsy Jazz, also known as gypsy swing and jazz manouche, is a style of jazz said to have been created by the guitarist Django Reinhardt in the early 1930s. Django Reinhardt was of Romani origin, born in Belgium, and grew up in Romani communities on the outskirts of Paris. The music style emerged as a blend of American jazz and the traditional music played during his upbringing. S:t Eriks jazzbar presents a jam session every Wednesday at 20:00 focusing on Django Reinhardt's style of jazz.
