For venues

We don't rent out venues. We fill them.

Händer connects you with groups that want to meet: groups of friends, afterworks, associations and clubs. They need a place. You have tables sitting empty at five on a Tuesday.

What you get

Groups that want to meet at your place

  • Available nowFriends, afterworks and clubs can create their meetups through Händer. When a group is looking for a place like yours, you get a concrete request: how many, which day and what time.

Life in quiet hours

  • Available nowGroups that meet after work or on weekdays fit the hours when you have room to spare. Every request gives a headcount and a time window, so you only say yes to what suits you.

Revenue from your space

  • Available nowA group brings value in one of two ways, or both: they eat and drink with you, or they pay a fee for the space. The request says which, so you know what you're agreeing to.
  • In developmentBooking and paying the room fee directly through Händer.

Fewer no-shows

  • Available nowGuests sign up in advance, the event has a cap, and anyone who joins once it's full goes on a waiting list. You get a number to plan around.
  • In developmentReminders and confirmation a few days ahead, so a meetup that won't happen is cancelled in time.

Regulars, not one-off visits

  • In developmentClubs meet again and again. We're building it so a club can pick you as its regular place and book its meetups with you.

Your own page on Händer

  • In developmentLog in, describe your venue and the hours you want to fill, and answer requests directly, without emails back and forth.

How it works today

  1. A group creates an event and tells us how many they are, when they want to meet, and whether they have a budget or plan to eat and drink.
  2. We contact venues that fit, with a concrete request.
  3. You say yes, suggest other times, or say no. You always decide.
  4. The group is told it's on, with your address. If you charge for the space, the group pays you directly.

What does it cost?

Hosting groups through Händer costs nothing today. The plan is to charge only for groups that have actually been with you, and you'll know the terms before anything costs money.

Which venues fit?

Cafés, pubs, bars and restaurants with room for a group are a good fit, and so are spaces for hire: studios, party rooms, rooftops and community halls.

Questions from venues

Do we have to commit to anything?

No. Every request stands on its own, and you can say no to any of them.

We're already on the map. Is that the same thing?

No. The map shows your public programme, taken from your own site. This is about groups looking for a place to meet, and for that we need to know you want to host them.

What if the group doesn't show up?

You agree the terms directly with the group, for example a booking or a deposit. Guests have signed up in advance through Händer, and reminders and advance confirmation are in development.
