Arab Film Festival - nära dig
We are screening the film Nojoom. A little girl enters a courtroom, looks the judge straight in the eyes and says "I want a divorce." In Yemen, where there is no age limit for marriage, 10-year-old Nojoom is forced to marry a 30-year-old man. In return, the family is offered a small financial compensation and one less mouth to feed. A legitimate and acceptable agreement for everyone except Nojoom, who soon discovers that her life changes for the worse. A beautiful defense for all these girls…
