Rigoletto Speciale blends Victor Hugo’s original texts with music from G. Verdi’s opera Rigoletto. Much of the atmosphere in F. Piave’s libretto to Rigoletto has been lost. The version presented is based on Hugo’s play *Le Roi s’amuse* / *The King Amuses Himself*. Many consider Rigoletto to be the world’s best opera.
